Synopsis: 

Year after year, for an endless eight months, a family moves to a desert in Gujarat to extract salt from the burning earth. Every monsoon the salt fields are washed away, as the desert turns into sea. And still they return....

Farida Pacha studied filmmaking in the USA, then made several short experimental, educational and documentary films. She won several prestigious awards in India and in Europe. «My Name is Salt» is her first feature length documentary.
